Randy Ward

Randy is a Berklee College of Music graduate, MP&E Class of '90, with a thriving audio production business on the Jersey shore, USA, called Big R Music & Post-Production (www.bigrmusic.com).
As a gigging "better-than-average" bassist, he made a commitment to step up his game on fretless and fretted bass. He began by recommitting himself to a stringent daily practice routine, taking private lessons with NYC's Charley Sabatino, gigging heavily and researching custom bass builders to find the perfect instrument to meet his needs.

After an exhaustive search, hours of research and many personal communications with some of the world's greatest bass luthiers and manufacturers, he arrived at Maurizio Uber Basses (MüB) and owner/luthier Maurizio Caduto. It was clear that this was the man destined to build his new bass. While working out the details and specs on a custom

6-string fretless, simply dubbed The MüB-F, a fretted 5-string bass in Maurizio's inventory caught his eye, The Sheldon D'Silva Signature MüB-G5 Triquetra.

It was love at first sight and I had the bass shipped from Malaysia to NJ, but not before Maurizio took the entire bass apart, cleaned it up, refinished a blemish or two and restrung it. talk about amazing customer service!

My Sheldon D'Silva Signature MüB-G5 Triquetra instantly became my one and only bass, though 8 other fantastic instruments hung on the walls of my studio. The effortless play-ability, immense detailed and articulate tones and the sheer esthetic beauty of the Sheldon G5 amazed me and all who heard me playing live. My band (www.drunkenclams.com) said they hear me clearer and more powerfully than ever before and I get rave comments about my playing and my tone on this instrument at every gig I play.
